We have one goal: building a world where there is enough for all.

Our office is a branch of the Church World Service global organization. CWS began in 1946 in the aftermath of World War II. We are a faith-based organization transforming communities around the globe through just and sustainable responses to hunger, poverty, displacement, and disaster.

In Virginia, refugee resettlement forms the basis of our work. CWS Winchester empowers new neighbors as they rebuild their lives in safety and security. With the help of local individuals, organizations, and faith groups we are creating a stronger, more diverse community with opportunities for all to thrive.

Building Community

Since 1988, we have collaboratively envisioned and created a welcoming place for new neighbors from across the globe. We accomplish this work with the help of many local volunteers.

Advocacy and Community Organizing

Through our words and actions, we empower refugees and immigrants to use their voice to shape and influence the attitudes, political decisions, and everyday practices that impact them.
